Since we have been gone so long I thought I would actually do not one but 2 posts today!!!!! Yippeee.

Since you last saw us this is what Miss P has been up to:

  • She says Dog, Zoey, Circle, sometimes Closet, Meagan (the girl who watches her while we are finding a new daycare), Daddy, Mommy, ball, sometimes bird.... sometimes alot of words and than we never hear them again but we are making progress!!! I think as soon as she can talk she will never stop. Which is good, she will be just like her Mom!
  • She loves shoes. I don't just mean she likes them sometimes. I mean the girl LOVES them! If ever you can't find her she is either in her room grabbing shoes or in my closet grabbing shoes. She walks around all day with her blanket and at least a pair of shoes if not 2. Sometimes she wears the strap on her arm which leaves her hands free to hold more! And if you don't put on the shoes she picks out, watch out, she will scream and holler like she is being murdered until she has some shoes on those feet!
  • She climbs although we try not to let her do this.
  • She dances. She loves to dance and watch those cuties from the Free Credit Report . com commercials. She just loves them!
  • We are working on feeding ourselves with a spoon. It's a bit messy but we are working on it.
  • She is also increasingly interested in the potty. She has some potty training books and they seem to be her absolute FAVORITE right now. We may start working on potty training soon before the interest goes away.
  • Daddy is her new best friend. That Daddy of hers I tell you, she thinks he hung the moon. I'm great and will sufice but only until she catches a glimpse of Daddy and than forget it!

I'm sure there is more I'm forgeting but since I said I would be better at blogging I'm sure you will hear about it soon.

So, about the daycare situation. Most of you already know the fiasco that happened at daycare. If you don't call me and I will tell you. Piper has been staying at home since we pulled her out of daycare (no not all alone, with a very sweet girl named Meagan). We had our name on 4 lists and YAY of all YAY's we got a call from the one that was our number one pick!!!!!!! YIPPPEEEEEEE we could not be more excited. It's a home daycare and the lady keeps 5 kids. Most of her kids have been there at least a year if not ALOT longer. She came highly recommended by a friend of Daddy's cousin and by several people at work. We have spoken to her on the phone several times and are finally going to meet her tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes! Piper is in desperate need of some friends I think. She does have a friend she loves to play with, Sophie, and I love her Mama but since we moved.... :-( we are sad we can't see her as much. Piper has also made a new friend named Jack who is just the cutest little angel with blonde curls I have ever seen! They also don't live close. So.... hopefully she can make some friends a daycare.
Ok so we have been obviously gone from blogging for a very very very long time but.... I will be better now. In my defense we did have a lot going on, new job, new house, new daycare (don't get me started on this), no new daycare, another potential daycare... a lot as I said.

Piper celebrated her 2nd Fathers Day with her Daddy today. We presented Daddy with a very nice fram for his office from a photo shoot we worked on Friday (we are procrastinators I know). Some sampling of the pictures are below:

Daddy got a triple frame that looked kind of like this. The pictures we actually used are on a friends camera but this is close.
We had a very nice relaxing Daddy day.

I'm a very bad blogger

I promise this weekend to catch up on Little P's blog! I have birthday pictures to post and other new pictures.

The newest thing in Pipers life is that she got her ears pierced! I must say she looks absolutely adorable with her new earrings. And, she hardly cried at all. She is such a little trooper! Some of us, ahem, have also been throwing some very nice temper tantrums lately! Pipers Nana (her Las Vegas Grandma) is always sending packages and I got a not so nice report from Pipers Mimi (her TX Grandma) the other morning when I woke up. Evidently Piper got yet another package from Nana, which we greatly appreciate, but which Piper has gotten used to getting. She knows when the package arrives. That it's for her and we let her open it and pull out all the clothes and run around the house flinging them around until she finds her favorite thing and than she just carries it around for a while. Well on this particular day I was asleep when the package came. Mimi ever so nicely left it on the counter for us to open later. Little P of course saw the package! and much to everyones dismay started screaming, crying and pointing to the package AND would not stop until it was put on the floor for her to bang on and open. HMMM this is not behaviour becoming of a Princess!! I promptly told her that we will be telling Nana not to send any more packages if this is the way we behave when they come. Of course she doesn't care and was quickly running around the house with the shoes (that's what was in this package, 4 pairs of shoes) giddy with joy as every girl should be when they get 4 new pairs of shoes. I can see why she was so excited to see the package!! I just wonder how she knew it contained the shoes she was so giddy to get! Such a smarty!

We also got to meet Pipers newest cousin, Holt, for the first time! I must say he is just the cutest thing ever! I will have pictures to post of him shortly.

SHOTS AND BRUISED GUMS

So the last 2 days have not been so good for my sweet Little Bug. Yesterday, after a very nice family day, Piper was playing with the dogs water (which is usually put up for this very reason) and she slipped and fell. I'm not sure if she hit her mouth on the actual dog bowl or the ground or both. What I am sure of is that her entire mouth was bleeding. Yikes! After careful examination ( and I do mean careful because she was not letting me very close to it to see ), I found a cut inner lip, small cut on the bottom gum right near her new bottom teeth and a VERY large purple and VERY bloody upper gum. I immediately panicked (not letting Piper see of course) and called the on call Nurse at the Pediatricians office. She assured me it was just bruised and to give her a popscicle (which I had none of) I did however have frozen bananas (don't ask me why, because I don't recall freezing the bananas, but I did ) so she ate those. I checked for chips, and loose teeth which she had neither of.

Today, the upper gums look even worse and it looks like her tooth is rotting out of her head. We went to the Dr. today for some shots so I had him check it out. He said what the nurse said, just bruising and it should be good in a few days. Evidently the gums are protecting her tooth which is not out yet so the Doc was not to worried, he said she probably mostly hit her gums and not the actual tooth. Yay! but it still looks pretty bad to me.
Piper got her 1 year shots today and was a very brave girl! Even the nurse commented on how she didn't even cry. She did cry for about 2 seconds on the last shot but was quickly calmed when I showed her my wallet and let her take out her Daddies credit card (this makes me happy and calm too) We than went home and slept for 2 hours than played and when I left for work she only had a slight fever. All seemes good (I however am freaking out from the paperwork they gave me to read about the side affects!!!!!! Sometimes less information is better )

We have pictures to post from Pipers Birthday party this weekend! I will be getting to that this week.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY LITTLE GIRL!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY PIPER! One year ago today at 5:33am Piper Brielle Baskett was born, 5.8 llbs and 17inches long. She is everything we dreamed and prayed for and everything we didn't even think to dream and pray for. She is always happy, such a good sharer, very silly, a good peek-a-boo player, a very fast runner, an all around great baby. She brings joy to our days like nothing can. We can't believe a year has gone by since we first looked at her sweet little face in the hospital. We hope the rest of our years are as easy as this one and hope that they don't go by nearly as fast. We cherish every day she runs to hug us and falls asleep in our arms because before we know it she will be all grown.

We love you so much Piper. Happy 1st Birthday Baby girl!

Random Photos

hmmm what's wrong with this picture? this is what I found this morning in my zip lock drawer
a random tupperware lid and what else?????? a cleverly hidden shoe
Yelling at my Mom because she wants me to get out of the cabinet.

Someone noseing around the cabinets, thinking she is going unnocticed!

sitting with our special friend Zoey (a little blurry for some reason)

Cute girl! This was right before we started yelling at our Mom again.

The girls in their argyle shirts

taking the laundry Mommy just folded and throwing it all around the house

If I snatch this phone I can run away with it and call my Nana!

SPOOKY UTTERINGS

So the other day I could hear whispering coming from my cutie LPB (little Piper bug). It was very adorable but a little spooky to hear this faint whispering coming from her little lips. What was she saying you ask? "Tickle tickle tickle" At first I thought I was hearing things . So I asked her Daddy and he said he thought he heard her saying that the other day but wasn't sure. Apparently her Mimi says that to her every time she watches her right before she tickles her. She also has been trying to get her to say Mimi which would seem easier to say than Tickle. My LPB however chose the more difficult of the two words an now runs around saying "tickle, tickle tickle" all the time; when you pick her up to snuggle, when you change her diaper, when you give her a bath. All you hear is a very faint whisper and than the tickle. As I said it is adorable but at the same time she reminds me of Chucky and I can't help but feel spooked. I also thought she whispered "lets call" when I asked her if we should call her Nana in Las Vegas but that might be wishful thinking on my part.
